At the Division of Internal Medicine, local, national, and international patients receive world-class diagnostic, treatment, consultation, and follow-up care in the full complement of internal medical disciplines.
Management
The Internal Medicine Division comprises ten internal medicine departments affiliated with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. In addition to the internal medicine departments, there are institutes and units in various subspecialties, which are also affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, including: the Rheumatology Institute, Gastroenterology Institute, Pulmonology and Allergy Institute, Endocrinology Institute, Clinical Immunology Unit, Infectious Diseases Unit, Diabetes Unit, Metabolic Diseases Unit, and others.
The Internal Medicine Division is also affiliated with the Department of Neurology, the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis, the Department of Dermatology, the Cardiology Division, the Hematology Division, and the Oncology Division. In total, approximately 40% of the medical center's beds belong to the Internal Medicine Division.
In recent years, considerable effort has been invested in improving the medical and academic standards of the division's physicians. Numerous teaching frameworks exist at both the departmental and divisional levels, and examination results in the main specialty and the various subspecialties are very good, with pass rates reaching approximately 80%. Additional academic pathways are also available, such as research at Tel Aviv University and the Weizmann Institute, either as part of residency training or as a doctoral program.
