The Crusaid Kobler AIDS Center at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) includes an outpatient clinic, laboratory, and day care unit. The Center serves as an important resource for the community, providing information, assistance, and initial guidance for individuals concerned about possible HIV infection.
The Center offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to care. Its team includes physicians, laboratory and research professionals, a nurse, a psychologist, a dietitian, a social worker, and administrative staff.
The HIV/AIDS clinic provides medical care and follow-up for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The Center also offers HIV screening tests to the general public. In addition, its medical team provides professional consultation and support to all hospital departments on HIV/AIDS-related issues.
The Center's Virology and Molecular Biology Laboratory is an integral part of its clinical activities, specializing primarily in HIV diagnosis and monitoring. Laboratory services include HIV testing, viral load measurement, immune status assessment (CD4 cell count), and drug resistance testing.
The laboratory is the largest HIV screening laboratory in Israel, performing approximately one-third of all HIV screening tests nationwide.
