Basic Skills Course

The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with the procedures performed in the children's wards, including tasks involving skills needed to perform procedures, with an emphasis on the performing the proper technique and maintaining infection-prevention principles. Procedures studied include: lumbar puncture, intravenous infusion, intraosseous infusion, urinary catheterization, bladder aspiration, otoscopy and manipulation to correct elbow subluxation. The course is intended for pediatric residents at the beginning of their residency. The course format is one full day of training per quarter.


Pediatric and Neonatal Assessment in Emergency Situations Course

The aim of the course is to develop the knowledge and skills needed to make an initial assessment of children and newborns in emergency situations, including an explanation of the principles of the pediatric assessment triangle while learning about physical measures and understanding the principles of resuscitation in a team. The course is in the format of one full day of training per quarter. The course is intended for pediatric residents at the beginning of their residency, and for the nursing staff in the emergency medicine field, to enable multi-professional teams to practice.

 

NRP Course

The aim of the course is to study and use the resuscitation algorithm and to practice basic resuscitation actions such as artificial respiration, heart massage, intubation, and inserting an umbilical catheter under emergency conditions, with emphasis on teamwork. The course format is one full day of training once every two months. The course is intended for pediatricians, neonatal ward and NICU nurses and delivery room nurses.
