Director         Dr. Ari Derowe

Head Nurse  Ms. Svetlana Shlimovitz

General Description

The Clinic deals with the diagnoses, counseling and surgical treatment of children up to age 15 suffering from various ear, nose and throat (ENT) diseases.

Specialists in the Clinic use advanced optical radiology equipment to diagnose diseases of the nasal cavities, pharynx, vocal chords and ears.

The Unit of Pediatric ENT at the Dana Children's Hospital treats children with a wide range of diseases and disorders:

  • Congenital and genetic disorders related to the ENT system, including the head and neck
  • Speech and hearing disorders, hoarseness problems
  • Sleep disorders caused by blockage of the airways, such as respiratory arrest during sleep
  • Tracheotomies
  • Chronic ear infections and complications
  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Breathing disorders
  • Benign and malignant tumors in the ENT and head-neck systems in children
  • Other inflammations in the ENT systems in children
  • Swallowing and drooling problems
  • Checking upper airways with optical fibers

A new instrument, for treating a loss of hearing as a result of accumulation of fluids in the ear, has recently been introduced to the ENT clinic at the Dana Children's Hospital. Doctors predict that this instrument might replace the conventional "grommet" operations. For details click here.

The unit runs three clinic days and two surgery days every week.
