An emerging research collaborative effort which works to develop new approaches to cell and organ replacements. This initiative is based on the work of Prof. Ran Oren the late Prof. Shlomo Brill and Dr. Izabel Zwibel in liver research, Prof. Gad Keren and Dr. Jacob George in cardiac research, Dr. Varda Deutsch, Dr. Ben-Zion Katz, and Prof. Ella Naparstek in hematopoetic stem cell research.
Research Facilities - Labs are equipped with the most advanced utilities, including all equipment for cellular and molecular work, tissue preservation, and in-vivo experiments. Biohazard and safety regulations are well incorporated into daily work.
A small and dedicated animal facility on campus provides most research requirements. Special needs are provided through Tel Aviv University facilities or an outside contractor (Harlan).
The current research focuses mostly on adults stem cell manipulation for use in three major areas –
Liver diseases – Prof. Ran Oren roren@tasmc.health.gov.il and Isabel Zwibel isab@tasmc.health.gov.il
Cardiovascular diseases – led by Prof. Gad Keren kereng@tasmc.health.gov.il and Prof. Jacob George jgeorge@bezeqint.net
Hematology diseases – Prof. Ella Naparstek enaparstek@tasmc.health.gov.il and Dr. Varda Deutsch varda@tasmc.health.gov.il |
