The unit performs a wide range of examinations to determine the normalcy of the pregnancy: follow up for normal pregnancy, nuchal translucency, early and late screening tests, special tests for clarifying identified fetal defects, three dimensional imaging, genetic testing, chorionic villi sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, aspiration of fetal cysts, and others.
The staff of the unit accompanies high-risk pregnancies by assessing fetal growth, uterine-fetal circulation, and amniotic fluid volume.
The unit also performs a number of gynecological diagnostic tests such as ultrasound of pelvic regularity, circulation examinations (FLOW,) hydro-sonography and echovist (special tests for illustrating the uterus and Fallopian tubes,) and procedures using ultrasound visualization such as aspiration of cysts, excision of polyps, and others.
