The Pediatric Day Hospital provides fast, accessible, and professional care, offering outpatient treatment without the need for overnight hospitalization. This approach helps reduce the challenges of a full hospital stay for children and their families. Treatments are provided during the day, allowing children to return home in the afternoon.
The Pediatric Day Hospital provides high-quality care through a multidisciplinary team of senior physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals specializing in pediatric care. The team works together to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, consultations, treatment, and follow-up in an environment tailored to the unique needs of children and their families.
Team
The Day Hospital focuses on two main areas:
- Comprehensive evaluation of medical conditions that have not been diagnosed in the community
- Treatment of medical conditions requiring hospital-based care without overnight hospitalization
A wide range of diagnostic evaluations and treatments are provided, allowing children to return home the same day whenever possible and maintain their daily routines. These include:
- Administration of intravenous medications, such as iron, steroids, enzymes, immunoglobulins, and biologic therapies
- Hormonal stimulation tests to evaluate growth disorders, puberty-related conditions, and adrenal gland function
- Outpatient diagnostic evaluations, including specialist consultations and access to advanced laboratory and imaging services
- Follow-up and continued care for children previously hospitalized in the pediatric departments
Family-Centered, Personalized Care
The team places children and their families at the center of care, providing professional treatment in a welcoming, child-friendly environment. Special emphasis is placed on minimizing pain, anxiety, and time spent in the hospital, while helping children and their families maintain their normal daily routines.
When needed, care is supported by additional professionals, including social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, and clinical dietitians.
Continuity of Care
The Day Hospital works closely with community physicians, particularly in complex cases, to ensure continuity of care. Children who require continued monitoring after hospitalization can receive follow-up care on an outpatient basis, with ongoing communication between the hospital team and community healthcare providers.
