The Pediatric Neurology Institute at the Dana-Dwek Children's Hospital is Israel's largest and leading center for the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of neurological disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The Institute provides specialized care to patients referred from across the country.
Our multidisciplinary team brings together highly experienced pediatric neurologists with expertise across a wide range of subspecialties, including epilepsy, neonatal neurology, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, pediatric movement disorders, headaches, and other complex neurological conditions.
Our Team
The Pediatric Neurology Institute Team:

The institute is actively involved in extensive clinical and basic research and is affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics at Tel Aviv University. As part of its academic mission, the institute serves as a training center for medical students and pediatric residents, integrating clinical excellence with research and teaching activities.
The institute considers community involvement an integral part of its care approach. The team works in collaboration with community healthcare providers and special education frameworks, maintaining continuous and professional communication to ensure comprehensive continuity of care, effective coordination between systems, and high-quality, accurate diagnosis for every child.
The Pediatric Neurology Institute provides care for children and adolescents with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:
- Epilepsy and seizure disorders
- Neuromuscular disorders, including delayed walking, low or increased muscle tone, motor clumsiness, neuromuscular diseases, muscular dystrophies, and cerebral palsy
- Motor disorders, cerebral palsy, and spasticity
- Movement disorders, including tremor, dystonia, chorea, involuntary movements, tics, and Tourette syndrome
- Speech, language, communication, and behavioral disorders, including speech and language delays, speech difficulties, hearing disorders of neurological origin, emotional difficulties, communication disorders, and evaluation and treatment of various conditions across the autism spectrum
- Neonatal neurology, including neurological follow-up for premature infants and newborns who were treated in intensive care units or experienced complications around birth
- Benign and malignant tumors of the brain and spinal cord
- Cerebrovascular disorders, including congenital cerebrovascular malformations, pediatric stroke, intracranial hemorrhages and their complications, thrombosis, and bleeding disorders
- Neurological complications following infectious diseases, such as meningitis and encephalitis
- Inflammatory diseases of the nervous system, including Guillain-Barré syndrome, ADEM (Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis), and multiple sclerosis
- Metabolic disorders affecting the nervous system and child development
- Neurogenetic syndromes, including Fragile X syndrome, Rett syndrome, Angelman syndrome, and Down syndrome
- Neurocutaneous syndromes, including neurofibromatosis, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), and Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1)
- Chronic headaches and migraines, head injuries, and structural abnormalities of the brain and skull
