Treatment of endocrine system tumors
Patients with benign and malignant tumors, such as thyroid cancer, adrenal tumors, neuroendocrine tumors (gastro-entero-pancreatic tumors which mostly occur in the digestive system, stomach cavity, chest and neck) benefit from the diagnostic, consultation, and treatment methods offered by leading tumor specialists at the Institute.
Expert treatment of diabetes, excess weight, obesity, and hypertension
The Institute focuses on treating diabetes, excess weight, obesity, lipid disorders, and hypertension.
Hypertension patients suffering from multiple ailments, patients suffering from complications of hypertension, and those with hypertension resistant to treatment can receive expert care from the Institute's hypertension clinic. Treatment is available for complicated forms of blood pressure irregularities such as hypertension that does not respond to standard treatment (resistant hypertension), hypertension in the elderly, hypertension in Parkinson's disease patients, unstable hypertension, hypertension in diabetic patients, and hypertension secondary to endocrine tumors.
The Center for Metabolic Syndrome
The Center for Metabolic Syndrome in the Institute of Endocrinology offers multidisciplinary treatment for obesity in conjunction with hypertension, lipid disorders, early detection of atherosclerosis, and impaired intellectual function so as to prevent future complications. The Center offers vigorous interventional treatment, with close medical and nutritional supervision and an individually tailored physical activity program for each patient.
Special assessment and therapeutic endocrine services
The Institute also offers an array of special endocrine services including: dynamic evaluation of pituitary function; fine needle thyroid gland biopsy under ultrasound; 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring; insulin pump therapy; continuous, noninvasive blood vessel monitoring for early detection of either malfunction or atherosclerosis. In the near future, the Institute will offer a service for diagnosing obesity unrelated to over-eating, including diagnostic hospitalization.
