Rehabilitation Hospital

​The Psychiatry Division of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center offers a variety of diagnostic services, as well as consulting and treatment for illnesses, disorders, and emotional and comorbid problems. Conditions treated include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Eating disorders
  • Psychosomatic illnesses
  • Post-traumatic conditions, such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Psychotic disorders
  • Sexual abuse manifestations
  • Women's emotional health
  • Addictions, including opioid street drug addictions

​The division offers a number of care frameworks, including:

  • Inpatient treatment
  • Day hospitalization
  • Ambulatory psychiatry
  • Child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Psychogeriatrics
  • Adelson Clinic for Drug Addiction Treatment and Research
  • The Lotem Center for Treatment of Sexual Trauma
  • The Center for Women's Emotional Health

  • The Clinic for Cognitive Therapy for Anxiety Disorders
  • The Clinic for Reinforcement Therapy
  • The Eating Disorders Clinic
  • The Clinic for Couples and Family Therapy
  • The Clinic for the Treatment of Disabled Military Veterans
  • The Parent and Baby Care Clinic
  • The Clinic for Treatment of Acute Trauma
  • The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Clinic
  • The Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Clinic (dTMS)
  • The Involuntary Commitment Clinic (court-ordered treatment)
  • The Dekel Forum: An afternoon social group for patients with emotional difficulties
  • Shikma: A rehabilitation unit that supports patients during rehab

 

Cross-disciplinary treatment

Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, art therapists, and other professionals.

In addition, interventions are conducted according to need for patients hospitalized in various departments throughout the Medical Center. Psychiatric and psychodiagnostic assessments and professional opinions are provided for legal purposes, rehabilitation, disability evaluation, etc.

 

Treatment modalities

The Psychiatry Division offers a variety of treatment modalities including biological treatments (medications, electroconvulsive therapy, and deep transcranial magnetic stimulation), psychotherapy (crisis therapy, dynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy, and supportive therapy) and other treatments. Therapy is provided in private, couples, family, and group settings.

 

Research mission

The Psychiatry Division's Research Unit and its other departments conduct a wide range of research projects to improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions. The division, affiliated with the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, is recognized by the Israeli Medical Association's Scientific Council for specialization in psychiatry and by the Israeli Psychological Association for specialization in psychology.
