Basic Casting Course

  • The aim of the course is to provide knowledge for selecting and performing the appropriate type of anesthesia for a diagnosed fracture, selecting and performing the correct reconstruction technique and setting the position in the cast. Participants will learn the principles of anesthetization, basic principles of closed reconstruction/reduction of fractures, basic principles of closed reconstruction/reduction of dislocations, basic casting techniques, and dermal and osseous traction with hands-on practice.
  • The course is intended for students doing their clinical rotation, residents at the beginning of their residency and physicians who are candidates as external on-duty physicians.
  • The course format is 2 full days of training 4 times a year.
