Regional and International Referral Center
As a premier multidisciplinary medical facility, the Medical Center is a national and international referral center for all the major primary and specialty care services.
The Facility
The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center supports patients in 170 outpatient clinics and 1,300 hospital beds through 60 departments and institutes.
Spread over 52 acres (207,000 square meters), the Medical Center features four main hospitals:
- The Ichilov General Hospital with its new state-of-the art Sammy Ofer Hospitalization Tower
- The Rehabilitation Center
- The Lis Maternity Hospital
- The Dana-Dwek Children's Hospital
Staff
The Medical Center employs over 6,000 people:
- More than 1,250 are physicians, of whom 560 are medical specialists; 300 hold academic positions; and about 10% hold professorships
- 2,050 are nurses
- 750 are medical technicians, technologists, therapists, and other clinicians
Annual activity
Patient activity has grown steadily since Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center’s inception in 1961. On an annual basis, the Medical Center manages:
- More than 103,000 new hospital admissions
- Over 32,000 surgical procedures
- More than 1,100,000 outpatient clinic visits
- Over 200,000 emergency room visits
- Over 11,000 deliveries
