The Medical Center Research and Development

Research & Development

Research at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center focuses primarily on a translational approach, with the objective of introducing pioneering solutions into clinical practice and advancing patient care. All phases of research are conducted at the Medical Center, beginning with validating novel ideas in laboratories dedicated to basic research, continuing with medical laboratory research, animal-based pre-clinical trials, clinical trial safety phase I (first in humans), and efficacy phases II through IV. Innovative medical techniques, medications, and technologies spanning all medical disciplines and all departments are proven and perfected at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. The Medical Center staff is well known for its successful collaborations with other academic institutions, both Israeli and international.

Academic affiliation

The members of the 1000-plus medical and research team, over 60% of whom are senior faculty members at Tel Aviv University, are highly experienced in their specialties. The Medical Center departments are affiliated with the Sackler Medical Faculty at Tel Aviv University, and collaborate with the academic institution in instruction and teaching activities.
