Research Unit (Lis)
Lis Maternity Hospital
The mission of the Lis Maternity Hospital Research Unit is to advance research initiatives and implement clinical solutions within the academic setting for women’s health services.
Clinical and basic science research go hand-in-hand with clinical practice as fundamental objectives at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center’s Lis Maternity Hospital.
Academic appointments for senior physicians attest to their accomplishments in research and education. Residents accepted to the unit are expected to demonstrate a commitment to academic education and scientific research as a core responsibility, with a recommended six months’ allocation to basic research in labor and delivery and gynecology. Following residency, some residents continue on to complete their PhDs, with the goal of meeting the requirements to receive the university title of Lecturer (Assistant Professor).
Scientific research requires skills, experience, and extensive resources. The Lis Research Unit works to obtain the resources necessary to assist and encourage residents and specialists to conduct research relevant to women’s health and fertility.
