מר אליהו (אליאס) סוראסקי נולד בביאליסטוק (1899-1986) , בגיל צעיר הגיע למקסיקו, מקום שבו הקים את ביתו והפך לאיש עסקים מצליח.
משחר נעוריו היה מר סוראסקי מזוהה עם התנועה הציונית, ותמיכתו הנמרצת במלחמת העצמאות ידועה בתולדות תקומת מדינת ישראל.
מר סוראסקי הצטיין גם בתמיכתו בחקר המדע ובמוסדות חינוך הן במקסיקו והן בישראל. ממשלת מקסיקו העניקה לו את האות המקסיקני החשוב ביותר ”אגילה אצטקה”.
ממשלת ישראל ועירית תל-אביב-יפו החליטו להנציח את זכרו של אליאס סוראסקי על פעילותו הברוכה רבת-השנים למען מדינת ישראל והמפעל הציוני, בהענקת שמו למרכז הרפואי תל-אביב.
גו'אן ז”ל (JOAN) בתו של אליאס סוראסקי ובעלה ד”ר חיים (חיימי) קונסטנטינר ז”ל( Jaime Constantiner) המשיכו בגאווה רבה את פעילותו הפילנטרופית והנצחת שמו וחמשת בניהם הם אלו שממשיכים את הפעילות המבורכת למען הנצחת משפחות סוראסקי וקונסטנטינר.
Elias Sourasky (1899-1986) was born in Byalistok, Poland. At an early age he made his home in Mexico, where he became asuccessful entrepreneur.
His strong identification with the Zionist cause and his decisive support in the War of Independence are historically recognized in the formation of the state of Israel.
He was prominent in his support of scientific research and educational institutions
in Mexico and Israel.
The Mexican Government awarded him the Aguila Azteca, Mexico’s foremost decoration.
The Government of Israel and the Municipality of Tel-Aviv-Yafo paid him the honor of naming this Tel-Aviv Medical Center in his memory.
Elias Sourasky's late daughter Joan and her husband, the late Jaime Constantiner,
took pride in continuing his philanthropic activities and perpetuating his memory. Their five sons have followed in their footsteps and dedicated themselves to perpetuating the memory of the Sourasky and Constantiner
families |
