The aim of physiotherapy services is to reinstate the level of functioning among patients and improve the quality of their lives so that they can be as independent as possible.

- Microsurgical procedures
- Treatment following breast reconstruction
- Burns
- Post operative care.
The Role of the Physiotherapist in the Department of Plastic Surgery:
During hospitalization
- Avoiding respiratory complication following surgery. under general anesthetic and after prolonged bed rest
- Reducing pain
- Maintaining or increasing range of movement in joints and preventing contracture due to burns, and strengthening of muscles.
- Counseling patients to become functionally independent through ADL (various positions of lying in bed, getting of the bed, using walking aids, etc.)
- Treatment and consultation after surgery for breast cancer and breast reconstruction following surgery
Ambulatory Care
- Physiotherapy treatment following breast reconstruction (in acute and chronic cases).
- Lymphatic counseling and treatment
The physiotherapist in the department is Ms. Ruti Peleg, who is a specialist in treating lymphadema and is head of the lymphadema service at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. |
