General Description

The Microsurgery Unit conducts all reconstructive surgical procedures requiring Free Flaps (Transfer of tissue with the connection of blood vessels and nerves). Some of the microsurgical procedures are conducted in participation  with other departments such as Oncology-Orthopedic, and the Head and Neck.

The Microsurgery Unit has been established in the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in 1998, and since then more than 500 patients had  microsurgical procedures. The rates of success in the department are similar to rates reported in the medical literature around the world - 94.4%.

The Microsurgery Unit serves all  the departments in the medical center. The staff of the unit and of the Department of Plastic Surgery is committed to giving personal, optimal and state-of-the-art treatment to each and every patient.
