1980-1982:     Advanced training at the Mayo Clinic, USA, in cardiothoracic surgery, as well as a research fellow at the University Hospital of Harvard University, Boston, USA.

1985:               Advanced training in valve repair surgery, Paris, France, under the direction of Prof. Carpentier.

1974:               Advanced training in Hyperbaric Medicine at the Maritime Medicine Institute of the British Navy.
