Regional and International Referral Center
As a premier multidisciplinary medical facility, TASMC is a national and international referral center for all the major primary and specialty care services.
The Facility
The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center supports patients in about 150 outpatient clinics and 1,300 hospital beds through approximately 60 departments and institutes.
Spread over 37 acres (150,000 square meters), the Medical Center features four facilities:
- The General Hospital
- The Ida Sourasky Rehabilitation Center
- The Lis Maternity Hospital
- The Dana Children's Hospital
Staff
The Medical Center employs over 5200 people:
- More than 980 are physicians, of whom 560 are medical specialists; 300 hold academic positions; and about 10% hold professorships
- About 1,780 are nurses
- Approximately 740 are healthcare technicians, technologists, therapists, and other clinicians
Annual activity
Patient activity has grown since TASMC's inception in 1961. On an annual basis, the Medical Center manages:
- More than 93,000 new hospital admissions
- Over 25,000 surgical procedures
- More than 1,100,000 outpatient clinic visits
- Over 180,000 emergency room visits
- Over 10,000 deliveries
