A counseling service is offered to couples and patients undergoing fertility treatment at the IVF unit who feel the need for counseling on different issues, including emotional support during the treatment process. Fertility treatment sometimes take a significant physical and emotional toll and affects the emotional well being of the patient, the relationship with her partner, and her family life, social life, work and career. To try and make the process easier on our patients, we offer this support and counseling service, that operates as part of the IVF team.
Counseling is given in two types of sessions:
- Sessions with individual patients or couples, where tools for dealing with the changes and stresses of fertility treatment are acquired.
- Support groups, led by our social worker, a nurse and the IVF lab team.
