Main description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Lis Maternity Hospital at the Tel Aviv Medical Center is a modern and advanced affiliate of the University of Tel Aviv. The gynecological services offered by the department are comprehensive and meet the needs of all problems related to women’s health. Services are provided within the hospitalization unit, specialty clinics and the women’s emergency room.
Treatments performed at the department are integrated into the wider infrastructure of the Medical Center and, therefore, referred patients may be offered medical solutions that are multi-disciplinary in nature (hematology services, imaging services, oncology, and others.)
Gynecological surgeries are performed by experienced specialists of the department and include: hysterectomy, excision of benign and malignant tumors of the uterus and ovaries. Specialists from other fields, such as general surgery and urology, stand ready to assist the department, as needed, for specific gynecological surgeries that require joint participation of these specialties. In addition to conventional types of surgery, the department has rich experience in performing fine invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy (for more information, please refer to the screen of services offered by the department.)
Pre-surgery imaging services include sophisticated ultra sound and three dimensional ultra sound, computerized imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which allow the department to offer medical service that is among the most advanced in the world.
The Obstetric and Gynecology Department has access to three surgery rooms: two rooms for general surgery and one for ambulatory surgery. The Unit for Maternal and Gynecological Anesthesiology provides exclusive service to the patients of the department.
