Main description The Department of Internal Medicine H of the Tel Aviv Medical Center treats a wide range of patients. Most of the patients hospitalized have been admitted via the Emergency Room for urgent care.
The department specializes in cardiopulmonary diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases and problems related to organ transplants such as opportunistic infections and rejection.
The department also consults and manages an outpatient clinic for follow up after open-heart surgery. There are also patients admitted on an elective basis from various hospital clinics for comprehensive work-up. The department provides consultation services for patients hospitalized in general surgery and gynecology departments, who may be transferred as needed for continued care.
The department features an intensive treatment room for patients requiring intensive care. The room has seven beds and is equipped with monitors and respiratory ventilators. The department has 40 beds. Each room in the department has an adjacent bathroom and shower. Rooms may house one, two or three beds each and are well equipped with the latest in treatment modalities for internal medicine.
The department treats approximately 250-300 new patients per month.
The medical team consists of a medical director, two assistant directors, three senior physicians and 8 - 10 resident physicians. The nursing staff consists of a head nurse, assistant head nurses, orientation nurse, registered nurses and others.
