Main description
The Department of Internal Medicine C of the Tel Aviv Medical Center treats a wide range of patients. Most of the patients hospitalized have been admitted via the Emergency Room for urgent care. There are also patients admitted on an elective basis from various hospital clinics for comprehensive work-up.
The department treats a variety of medical diseases, specializing in hyperlipidemia atherosclerotic diseases and in acute and chronic heart disease.
The department provides consultation for patients hospitalized in general surgery and gynecology departments, and who may be transferred as needed for continued care.
The department features an intensive treatment room for patients requiring intensive care. The room has six beds and equipment including monitors and respiratory ventilators. The department has 33 beds.
The medical team consists of a medical director, two assistant directors and a senior physician. The nursing staff consists of a head nurse, assistant head nurses, orientation nurse, registered nurses and others.
The department is affiliated with the medical school of the University of Tel Aviv and is actively involved in the academic instruction of medical students, nursing students and others. The physicians of the department are members of various medical associations such as the Medical Association of Israel, The American Heart Association, The Israeli Association of Atherosclerosis, the American Federation for Clinical Research and others.
