Main description The Laboratory of Electromyography (EMG) and Clinical Neurophysiology of the Tel Aviv Medical Center performs approximately 1200 neurophysiologic examinations a year. The Neuromuscular Clinic and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Clinic function in constant cooperation with the laboratory. The laboratory performs routine EMG testing, single fiber EMG for diagnosis of myasthenia gravis, visual evoked potential (VEP) and somato-sensory evoked potential (SSEP) tests for diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS), magnetic stimulation examinations and quantitative assessment of motor strength. The examinations are performed using modern, computerized equipment.
The staff of the laboratory includes three experienced neurologists and a medical technician. The staff is also actively involved in instruction of medical residents and in research.
