Education and Research
Nursing Management encourages the development and advancement of staff members via various educational tracks.

Academic Studies :
Academic Studies advance and develop the nurse in a way the enable the implementation of special projects in the various departments.

As not every field of academic study is recognized as compensatory for salary differential and benefits, it is advised to refer to the Coordinator of Staff Development and Training in the nursing management office in order to assess the relevance of the studies and eligibility for benefit reimbursement.

Advanced Nursing Specialty Courses :
The nursing staff of special units is required to attend advanced nursing courses in the relevant specialties. Additionally, it is our policy for nurses working in general in-house departments to attend advanced nursing courses in order to advance the quality and professionalism of patient care.

Local Continuing Education Programs :
  • Treatment of the organ transplant candidate.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This course is part of a series offered by a new center for Resuscitation Studies which specializes in training health professionals.
  • Treatment utilizing peripheral venous infusions, central lines and alternate venous systems.
  • Care of the Intubated Patient.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Instruction on Coordinating Departmental Teaching.
  • Seminar day on the duties of the charge nurse.
  • Basic skills training for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Course for new and veteran moderators of training groups.
  • Course on Transplant Adaptation.
  • Course on Chinese Medicine for Head Nurses.


    Overseas Conferences :
    The Nursing Department of Tel-Aviv Medical Center is represented in many overseas conferences and training courses. Forty nine nurses have recently represented 11 studies at various overseas conferences :

    Heterogeneous Support Group for Transplants and their families.

    4. Mrs. Nurit Partal – Nursing Management – Vancouver, Canada – Presentation on “Hospital Preparedness for Toxicological Mass Causalities (TMC) in peace time.

    5. Mrs. Pazit Azouri – Organ Donation Coordinator and Tali Fleishman – Nursing School , Virginia Washington – Presentation on “Program for Nursing Student Intervention in Organ Donation”.

    6. Mr. Orna Mor – Department of Movement Disorders, Barcelona, Spain – Poster presentation on “ The Quality of the Sexual life in Parkinson’s Disease.

    7. Mrs. Riva Seperstein – Stoma Care – Singapore : “Unknowingly Soiling: The Pediatric Bowel Management Program.

    8. Mrs. Ayala Lior and Mrs. Odeda Benin – Emergency Medicine – Pisa, Italy – Trauma Conference – Presentation of three studies : “Establishment of Emergency Medical Services in Addis Ababba Ethiopia.
