Main description The Hematology Institute of the Tel Aviv Medical Center treats patients who suffer from hematological diseases, such as leukemia and lymphoma, which require chemotherapy and diseases such as anemia and polycythemia. The institute provides diagnosis and treatment within the ambulatory outpatient clinics and laboratories of the institute as well as day hospitalization for hemato-oncology cases.
Treatments include administration of combined cytotoxic medications according to internationally accepted protocols, injection of biological treatments such as interferon, erythropoeitin, interleukin - 2 and administration of agents that boost immunoglobulin levels. The institute operates the new Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, a modern and sophisticated blood bank and laboratory. Additionally, the institute conducts research designed to advance and improve the treatment of hematological and other diseases.
