Main description The Nutrition and Dietary Unit of the Tel Aviv Medical Center gives advice to patients suffering from obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipemia, heart disease, kidney problems, joint diseases, transplants and such. The unit also gives nutritional advice to women experiencing menopause, to athletes, to children and adolescence and others.
Consultations, which include measuring percent body fat, may be given either to individuals or to groups and are paid for privately. The unit also is available to consult with hospitalized patients as part of the comprehensive care plan ordered by the treating physician.
In addition to consultations, the unit offers group instruction to people who are at high risk for heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis and other illnesses.
The staff of the unit includes 25 professional clinical nutritionists.
