Main description
The Department of Orthopedics B treats a wide variety of surgical orthopedic problems including complex, traumatic orthopedic injuries, joint replacement, diseases of the foot and ankle, complications of diabetic foot, sports medicine, shoulder surgery,and others. The department provides trauma service for a variety of skeletal injuries, with rich experience in treating fractures of the pelvis and the acetabulum. Treatment for a variety of open and closed fractures is performed using modern and advanced techniques - intramedulary nailing, for example - some of which have been developed here in Israel, such as the Ilizaroff technique.

The department houses 32 beds and performs approximately 1800 surgeries per year. The medical staff is comprised of 11 senior physicians and 11 medical residents. The nursing staff is comprised of a head nurse, assistant head nurses, an orientation nurse, registered nurses and others.
